Technology and machines for precision CNC grinding

Grinding is the final machining operation, delivering maximum dimensional accuracy and the required surface quality. At our production plant we use modern CNC-controlled grinding machines capable of holding tolerances of ±0.01 mm. These machines feature in-process active gauging, which eliminates deviations caused by grinding wheel wear.

We specialise in surface and cylindrical grinding, with a machine park covering a working range of up to 1000 mm for flat surfaces and diameters up to 300 mm for rotating parts. Spindles running at up to 10,000 rpm ensure optimal cutting conditions across a wide range of materials. Automated wheel dressing keeps grain sharpness constant and tool geometry precise.

For specific requirements we also offer centerless grinding, ideal for series production of pins, shafts and guide rods. This process minimises deformation of slender parts and significantly shortens cycle times. High-pressure coolant delivery prevents thermal damage to the metal structure.

Materials processed and achievable surface roughness

Precision metal machining requires an individual approach to abrasive selection, whether corundum, silicon carbide or cubic boron nitride (CBN). We process a broad range of tool, structural and heat-treated steels with hardness exceeding 60 HRC. We grind stainless alloys, cast iron and non-ferrous metals used in demanding industrial sectors with equal efficiency.

Machined surface quality is defined by the Ra roughness parameter, and we routinely achieve values of Ra 0.2 to Ra 0.4 µm. This micro-geometry is essential for sliding fits, sealing faces and hydraulic components. To reach these parameters we use a multi-stage process comprising rough grinding, semi-finishing and final spark-out.

Custom part manufacturing at our facility also covers grinding of surface-treated components such as case-hardened, nitrided or induction-hardened parts. In these processes we strictly control stock removal depth so the hardened layer remains intact. The result is components with excellent wear resistance and long service life.

We produce critical components for engines, gearboxes, injection systems and chassis assemblies, where failure is not an option. Parts manufactured to drawing comply with the international standards ISO 2768 and DIN 7168. We guarantee not only dimensional tolerances but also strict geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) requirements such as cylindricity, flatness, perpendicularity and runout. These parameters are critical to the correct function of assemblies and mechanisms.

As a reliable CNC machining partner we provide flexible solutions for both one-off and series production. Our plant is located in Ladce, Slovakia, and we ship finished parts throughout the European Union. Logistics and packaging are adapted so that ground surfaces are protected from corrosion and mechanical damage in transit.

Quality control and the advantages of our engineering production

Final inspection of ground parts takes place in a climate-controlled metrology room using 3D coordinate measuring machines (CMM). We check every critical dimension and record the results in measurement reports supplied with the delivery. Surface roughness is verified with calibrated diamond-stylus roughness testers.

Which materials do you grind most often?
We process a wide range of materials, particularly tool steels, hardened steels and stainless steel, as well as non-ferrous metals and various special alloys.
How much grinding stock should we leave on the blanks?
For optimal results and to safely reach the ±0.01 mm tolerance we recommend leaving 0.2 to 0.3 mm of stock, depending on part size and distortion after hardening.
What are your standard lead times for grinding?
Standard lead time from our plant in Ladce is 1 to 3 weeks. The exact date depends on batch size, part complexity and current capacity utilisation.
Do you also grind one-off parts, or only larger batches?
We focus primarily on B2B series production. By agreement we also handle prototype and one-off production, particularly for technologically demanding, high-precision parts.
